Ramayana Water Park — Pattaya visitor guide

Plan your visit to Ramayana Water Park in Pattaya: what to see, practical tips, how to get there and nearby highlights.

Ramayana Water Park

Set amidst the rugged, sweeping limestone cliffs of the Silverlake region, Ramayana Water Park is a sprawling 184,000-square-meter tropical expanse that functions less like a typical concrete pool complex and more like an immersive, archaeological-themed jungle retreat.

What to expect

The park’s design centers on the ancient ruins motif, where weathered stone carvings and crumbling wall facades emerge from lush, secondary-growth forest. Visitors choose from 21 distinct water slides, ranging from the adrenaline-inducing "AquaLoop"—which drops you through a near-vertical trapdoor—to the gentler, winding "Lazy Winding River." The facility draws its supply from its own private wells, treated through a high-end filtration system that avoids the stinging chlorine odor found in urban pools. In addition to the slides, there is a dedicated double wave pool and a sprawling splash pad for younger children. The layout is expansive, punctuated by private cabanas for rent and "floating markets" that serve standard Thai staples like pad thai and mango sticky rice.

History & significance

Opened in 2016, Ramayana was engineered to be the largest water park in Thailand. Its design concept draws heavy inspiration from the Ramayana epic, a literary cornerstone of Southeast Asian culture. By anchoring the architecture in the aesthetics of an ancient city—complete with scattered lotus ponds and mythical stone beasts—the developers successfully distance the park from the industrial "plastic" feel of typical water theme parks. The site is a rare example of eco-conscious engineering in Pattaya, utilizing natural geological features to create a backdrop that feels organic rather than manufactured.

Practical tips

Getting there

Ramayana is located in the Na Jomtien district, approximately 20 kilometers south of Pattaya’s downtown core. Because it is secluded near the Silverlake vineyards, it is not accessible by public songthaew (shared taxi). The most reliable transport is a private Bolt/Grab taxi or the official park shuttle, which runs daily from major Pattaya hotels. If driving, follow Sukhumvit Road (Highway 3) and look for the signs near the Buddha Mountain (Khao Chi Chan) turnoff.
